My "Meal Plan"

I’m sure you’re wondering by now how anyone can survive after cutting so much from the diet. To give you a glimpse of a day in the life of a health nut, I've decided to describe my typical meal, as well as list of my favorite snacks. I have surrounded my diet with these foods. Not only do I enjoy every bite, but I leave each meal feeling full and satisfied.

For breakfast I typically eat eggs, fruit, GF cereal, and coffee. When it comes to lunch and dinner I make sure to fill my plate with meat, vegetables, and rice or sweet potatoes. The gluten-free options at restaurants are growing every day. A great resource for eating gluten-free meals at restaurants is Find Me Gluten Free.

There are a few particular snacks I eat every time I can get my hands on them. These snacks include:
  • Berries
  • Lemons and limes
  • Coconuts
  • All other fruits
  • Avocados
  • Hummus
  • Carrots
  • Various store-bought GF products
  • Occasional care packages of homemade GF cookies or muffins (Thanks, mom!)
  • Trail mix*
  • Cereal/Granola Concoction*

*Trail mix:
  • Almonds
  • Walnuts
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Coconut flakes
  • Coconut sugar
  • Dried cranberries
  • Dried blueberries
  • Hemp seeds
  • Cacao nibs
*Breakfast Cereal Concoction:
  • Cereal or granola (Gluten-free and no GMOs)
  • Unsweetened coconut milk
  • Frozen blueberries
  • Banana
  • Cinnamon
  • Honey
  • Cacao Nibs
  • Hemp Seeds
  • Chia Seeds
This is a description of my favorite and most frequently eaten foods. You may like some of the foods listed while others sound terrible. Everyone has his or her own preferences; however, eating healthy does not mean eating foods you do not like! Think of all the healthy foods you like and start eating more of them. If you have decided to eat healthier, due to your own research or from one of my previous entries, you will find the list of your favorite healthy snacks growing quickly. The transition is a little rough, but you can do it! Once you become used to eating on a healthy diet, you will be so glad you did. Good luck!!
